Where do the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) sessions take place?
We deliver our DofE programme from eight youth centres across Essex.
At each location we run the three progressive award levels. You can register for:
Our sessions focus on on expedition planning and training. In addition to this, we support you with the physical, skills and volunteering sections of the award which you complete independently.
When do the DofE sessions start?
Our next DofE sessions start in November 2017.
Once you have registered a place on the award, you will be contacted by your centres’ Team Leader with your start date and time.
What is the latest date I can register for the award?
You can register a place on the DofE award at any point throughout the year. However, in order to complete the expeditions with Essex County Council in 2018 you need to register by 31 January 2018.
Please note: Our core DofE programme starts in November 2017 and you may be required to attend additional catch-up training sessions.
If you register after 31 January 2018, you will be required to complete your expedition training, practice and qualifying expedition with an external expedition provider. Alternatively, you may choose to defer the expedition section of your award until spring/summer 2019, when you can join the next round of our Essex County Council run expeditions.
We're running a series of DofE Information evenings at each of our youth centres throughout October.
