Sisters In Strength Programme
What is it?
Sisters In Strength is a fully funded five-week mentoring programme designed for girls and young women aged 10-18 who may be at risk of entering abusive relationships, becoming perpetrators in relationships, or currently experiencing abuse. Delivered through group sessions or one-to-one support, the programme addresses key topics such as:
- Making relationships work
- Relationships in a digital world
- Building confidence
- Manners and respect
- Understanding consequences
- Healthy relationships
The programme teaches participants about respect and the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships. It equips them with the skills needed to maintain positive relationships, appropriately end unhealthy ones, and keep communication open and respectful.
Who is Eligible?
The programme is open to young females who:
- Are aged 10-18 years
- Live in Greater Essex
- Are willing to take part in group or one-to-one sessions (face-to-face or online)
- Display signs of unhealthy relationships or coercive behaviours (e.g., lack of empathy, dishonesty, manipulative or dismissive attitudes)
