Year 6–7 Transition
Moving from primary to secondary school is a big step and can be both exciting and emotional for young people. Essex Youth Service offers a dedicated Transition Programme to support students through this important change, focusing on developing the social and emotional skills they need for a smooth transition.
Programme Highlights
The programme covers topics such as:
- Coping with change
- Building resilience
- Friendships
- Making good choices
Through this programme, young people will:
- Celebrate their achievements
- Explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
- Say goodbye to primary school and start secondary school with a positive mindset
The programme is flexible and can be delivered in group settings or as one-to-one support based on the young person's needs.
