National Citizen Service

NCS is the country’s fastest-growing youth movement, a rite of passage for all teenagers aged 15-17 to discover who they are and what they can do. It’s your chance to explore, be inspired and find your passion.

NCS is a 4 week programme in the summer with a shorter programme available in the Autumn.

PHASE 1 – ADVENTURE

This residential is all about building confidence, getting to know your team and challenging yourself. The phase will be jam packed with activities like raft building, high ropes or archery.

PHASE 2 – DISCOVERY

Discovery is a festival style residential with loads of different activities such as healthy relationships, debating, enterprise day, creative challenges and music events. This will help you learn and enhance life skills and become more employable. You’ll learn more about your local community and you’ll be challenged in lots of different and exciting ways.

PHASE 3 – ACTION

You’ll use your new skills to design and deliver an incredible social action project to make a difference to a cause you care about in your local community – this is your chance to really make a positive impact on the world around you!

PHASE 4 – CELEBRATION

It’s your time to shine! Once you've successfully completed your NCS adventure you and your parent or guardian will be invited to your Graduation event to celebrate everything that you've achieved. It’s an opportunity to congratulate the rest of your team, cement your friendships and pick up your certificate signed by the Prime Minister.
