Baking with Emma- Quiche
For the pastry
- 175g/6oz plain flour, plus extra for dusting
- 75g/2¾oz butter, plus extra for greasing
For the filling
- 250g/9oz cheddar, grated
- 1 red onion
- 5 large eggs, beaten
- 100ml/3½fl oz milk
- 200ml/7fl oz double cream
- Herbs - optional
- freshly ground black pepper
Optional fillings – just choose 2 or 3 that you like
- 200g/7oz streaky bacon, chopped
- 200g Ham Chopped
- 1 pepper – any colour
- Mushrooms – sliced
Or anything else you like. 😊
- 22cm/8½in well-buttered flan dish or pie dish or any ovenproof dish
- Rolling pin
- Frying pan
- Large bowl
- Baking parchment and baking beans. (If you don’t have these you can use rice or pasta).

Music Business Quiz
During this Music Business focused session, Tim who has over 20 years of experience in the Music Business will be exploring life on tour as a musician. This is an opportunity for young people to ask him questions about this and for him to ask young people questions in a Music Quiz.
A fun and very interactive dance session, where in a small group, you can learn different styles of dance moves from a trainer in dance.
The Quirky Squad
is a Friendly and Fun Zoom session and an amalgamation of Chelmsford’s LGBT+ and Gender groups. It is open to the existing members of these two groups and their friends. We would warmly welcome new members from these two communities aged between 13-19yrs to join us. A time for young people with learning disabilities to stay in touch with other members and staff and join in a range of activities.
A group of young people who work with Commissioners from the Youth Service to commission services for young people. Online Zoom sessions are being used to work on developing skills including teamwork, leadership and communication skills as a group that will support them when working as a team to look at commissioning proposals and make decisions alongside youth service commissioners.
A group for young people with Special Educational needs ages 13-25, based in Brentwood. Zoom sessions are being designed by young people who select a variety of session ideas including quizzes and activities that are relevant to the group.
Basildon Youth Council
A group of young people aged 11-19 years up to 25 years old with additional needs. The youth council represent the voice of young people within the Basildon District and strive to make Basildon a better place for young people to live by ensuring that their voices are heard, and they are involved in the decision-making process. The BBYC are currently working on a violence and knife crime project to raise awareness of the impact this can have within their community. The BBYC work in partnership with Essex Youth Service and Basildon Borough Council.
This is a perfect opportunity for young people to join the youth council to get involved in their local community, have their voice heard, gain new skills and meet new people.
Rochford District Youth Council
Do you live in the Rochford District? Would like to make a difference for young people in your community? We are currently working on a Mental Health awareness campaign.

South Young Volunteers
For young people aged 16-18 who are interested in volunteering in their local community. Young people will be trained to be young volunteers, the training includes;
Introduction to Youth Work, Safeguarding, leadership skills and planning, delivering and evaluating a project.
Young people will plan and do community projects across Brentwood, Basildon, Castle Point and Rochford as well as fun activities such as games and quizzes.
Zoom sessions: Wednesday 2-2:30pm
An inclusive youth group for young people aged 13-19 or up to 25 with additional needs. Fun activities each week and staff are available for support or just a friendly chat.

North East Young Volunteers
For young people aged 16-18 who are interested in volunteering in their local community Young people will receive training and be involved in community projects across Colchester and Tendring.

A group for young people with Special Educational Needs ages 18+, based in Colchester. A time for young people to stay connected with each other, the youth workers and join in different activities.
Young Essex Assembly - North East
For young people 13-19 who are interested in having a voice in their local communities. Young people will receive training and be involved in local decisions impacting young people.
Run by Sparks, this is an opportunity to learn relaxation techniques and a chance to talk if you wish.
