Essex DofE Award: Choose the In-person or Virtual option
DofE can be a game-changer - raising your self-esteem, aspirations and opening doors to employment! Essex DofE is here to inspire, engage and motivate you through your award.
Start your DofE award at any point in the year and make connections and friends outside of your school, there's no restrictions as to when or where you can join. We deliver the Bronze, Silver and Gold award.
Essex DofE Award Programme
Our next 10 session programme starts in 2025. Our Essex DofE Award Programme encompasses the entire bronze, silver and gold award from training through to completion. We register young people to the award, guide participants through the award sections, sign-off sections, deliver practical and engaging training, and run our very own expeditions in the expedition season every year. Sessions run at our youth centres in Brentwood, Chelmsford and Colchester. Or participants can choose to attend our Virtual sessions which are run via Teams.
You can get started on your award straight away. Once you register your booking confirmation email outlines how you can begin so you don't need to wait until your sessions begin to make a start on your sections. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
Option 1: Youth-centre Sessions in Brentwood, Chelmsford or Colchester
Participants can register at any time, and can join in with our 10 session programme at any point from January through to April.
Our new programme for January 2025 contains 10 sessions which include an emphasis on relationship and team building tasks, leadership activities and themed sessions on volunteering, first aid, and expedition cooking. We will also cover eDofE and include an aspect of free social time for young people to play.
This cohort will join expeditions starting in Spring/Summer/Autumn 2025.

Option 2: Virtual Sessions
Participants can register at any time and begin working towards their physical, skill and volunteering sections straight away for their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. Participants will be invited to attend our monthly virtual sessions starting in January 2025. This cohort will join expeditions starting in Spring/Summer/Autumn 2025.
The joining link will be sent to participants via email before the scheduled call.
