No fixed start dates - No qualifications required for entry - Bursary (for those eligible).

Nova Training
Nova Training have study centres in Clacton and Colchester. They offer English and Maths up to Level 1, 2 or GCSE if needed, as well as Functional ICT. Their programmes offers 16-18-year olds the opportunity to gain work experience, apprenticeship opportunities and support into employment. If you are not in employment, education or training and would like to be referred please let us know.

Build Skill - Colchester
Applications available for Construction and Well-being course with a start date planned for the end of November.

Wilderness Foundation

Brave Futures is a nature-based group therapy programme for children, teens and adults who have experienced grief, trauma, addictions, social isolation, anxiety and depression which has affected their mental health and wellbeing. With our team of expert outdoor group therapists, we have a style of working that offers therapy, tools and strategies for managing trauma, grief, relationships, boundaries, self-care, communication and emotional control, mixed with a range of activities. Activities are varied and include bushcraft, camp cooking, walking, foraging, nature art and craft work for one day a week for 8 weeks. 
Next programmes for Colchester & Tendring cohorts: 3 June 2024, 17 & 19 September 2024

Out There Wilderness Academy - In small groups students engage in hands-on activities that challenge their minds, develop their social skills, and feed their emotional needs. The programme designed for 13-15 years old to come to our site (Chatham Green, CM3 3FE) for 1 day a week for 6 weeks.
Next 2024 programme starts: 6 June, 19 September, 7 November 2024

Adult Skills Centre (Colchester Institute)

  • Functional Skills Maths and English courses for 16-17 and 18+, as well as other courses.
  • CSCS Card course. Free training, just £36 payment for card required.

Signals Essex Media Centre Ltd - A centre for creative digital learning.
They specialise in film education, digital art and use media production for social, learning and creative outcomes.
Their community projects enable disadvantaged groups to work on production projects, giving participants digital media skills and most importantly a voice.

Fire Cadets
Fire Cadet applications will open 1 April until 30 June 2024. This will be for a cohort which will start our new 40 week programme in September. The Cadet programme is a nationally recognised three-year programme run by our Prevention team at six fire stations across Essex for young people aged 13 - 17. We currently have 18 Fire Cadets Units at Clacton, Dovercourt, Great Baddow, Harlow, Orsett and Southend.

Boxing For Fitness - Harwich

Looking for a new way to get active in Harwich? Why not join our new weekly boxing for fitness sessions. The first session will be free and then all other sessions will be £2 each. All levels of experience are welcome, and Gloves and pads are provided.
We also offer 1 to 1 sessions for anyone who wants to build their confidence before the group sessions.

Inspire Wellbeing offers free in-person and virtual counselling to young people, aged 10-25 in Suffolk and North & Mid Essex, who need someone to talk to.
