Future You with Bright Futures (Harlow College)
‘Future You’ Course is being run by Bright Futures as part of Harlow College. This is a Personal Development programme providing opportunities to learn new skills, achieve qualifications, meet new people and also develop a professional network to support employment after course completion. ‘Future You’ Course Content:

  • ILM Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills
  • Level 1 Extended Certificate in Employability
  • NCFE Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
  • City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Customer Service
  • NCFE Level 2 Principles in Customer Service – online option for some learners only, dependant on current level of qualifications
  • Highfield Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Drug & Alcohol Awareness
  • Development plans/ next steps

All leaners will be offered the opportunity to complete 2 sector specific online qualifications, e.g. COSHH Awareness, Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety from the online offer. Clients have to be 18 or over to attend the course. Course last for 24 days and ends on Thursday 11th July. 

Start Date: Tuesday 21 May 2024


Stansted Airport Academy
Exploring the Aviation Industry Course
You may wish to boost the chances of employment at Stansted Airport by attending their 10 day NCFE Level 1 in Exploring the Aviation Industry course. This pre-employment programme provides an insight into the aviation industry and aims to develop your knowledge of airline operations and aviation operations on the ground.  The course will be delivered by virtual Classroom and face to face at the Academy.

Course start dates: 29 April, 10 June, 1 July

Learning Curve 
Hairdressing and Barbering NVQ Level 2 Study Programme - Loughton
This is a part-time course that will be taught one day a week in the academy, and one day a week at home. It will include practical hairdressing units, as well as employability skills. There are no minimum grades or previous experience required. Immediate start!

Hairdressing and Beauty NVQ Level 1 Study Programme - Loughton

  • 1 Year course
  • 1 day per week hairdressing - 1 day per week beauty - 1 day per week functional skills
  • Enrolment all year round
  • Enrolment sessions every Monday and Friday at 10am for anyone interested to come in for a chat and look around

Colas are currently looking for Highways Operatives to join their operational team in safely delivering civil engineering and Highways Projects to predetermined plans, specifications, timescales and budget. For information about Colas and the Harlow project can be found on their Padlet.
 

Shaw Trust
Care and Construction Academies
Through the Academies learners can receive careers planning and guidance support, Health and Social Care or Construction specific training, opportunities to gain work experience, on the job training and wellbeing support to help learners overcome any barriers that prevent them from training and/or gaining employment.

Free Career mentoring for Harlow residents 18+.

Users can find mentors to support them with CV writing, interview preparation, sector insights and settling into a new role. The platform will provide guidance and templates for engaging with one of their 100+ mentors, meaning no experience is necessary.
